Apprenticeship or internship?

Professional experience on the two year track

If you opt for the two year track, you will have the opportunity to choose a professional experience in the form of either an apprenticeship or a six month internship.

You can gain professional experience in synergy with your curriculum and have the whole of the cost of your studies paid for by the apprenticeship scheme at the same time. There are conditions attached to being an apprentice:

- It is open only to students under the age of 26.

- 50% of your time is spent working in the company and 50% studying at ESSEC. You receive a percentage of the French minimal salary plus full exoneration from payment of your tuition fees and are considered as an employee of the company. You will spend in total 24 months in the company, gaining considerable experience as a consequence.

The contract starts in October of your first year. You work for the company two days a week and also spend the whole of the summer term and the summer working for the company.

The whole process is managed by the Corporate Relations Office (finding the company, signing the contract, tutoring during the work experience). You may also use your own contacts for getting an apprenticeship.

Now open to all international students following a Master’s-level program and under the age of 26.

Requirements:
* To be admitted and registered on an ESSEC Business School program.
* To be present in France to sign the apprenticeship contract in order to obtain a temporary work permit.
* To sign a contract with a company based in France, for a fixed period of time which is indicated in the contract.
* To have an operational level of French at the beginning of the mission.

The internship scheme is an opportunity to broaden your horizons, gain professional experience and sometimes improve your foreign language skills.
A six month management internship complements your previous professional experience and education. It is also a chance to have an international experience on any continent anywhere in the world.

You have the opportunity to put to the test management theories absorbed in the first six months of study.

Companies send internship proposals which you choose from on the internal intranet. The process is managed by the Corporate Relations Office.
